The duo of Navene Koperweis and Chaney Crabb is putting out another fantastic release. They’ve always been a genre pushing band in extreme metal and always do their own thing. I’ve had the honor of being in their discord and twitch streams all year. They’ve talked about how excited they are to release these 5 anthems. The pair mentioned how the songs are more streamlined and focused. That holds true all 5 tracks clock in around 4 minutes or less.
Entheos always has intrigued me blending a lot of metal sub genres outside of death metal and deathcore. They’ve added in some technical flare and a lot of melody. If you didn’t know, Chaney has sang longer than she’s screamed believe it or not. She channels more of that talent but doesn’t overstay its welcome.

Entheos is freshly signed to Metal Blade dropping “Time Will Take Us All” last year (which still gets a lot of listening time with me). The band had a little pressure to say the least and boy did they ever deliver. Navene’s drumming has always been solid and has gotten better with time. What’s never talked about with the guy is how good of a guitarist he is. He has some awesome, tasteful leads on this EP with a lot of memorable riffs. He too doesn’t try to overdo it and focuses on groovy, catchy and heavy riffs. The same can be said for his solos.
I got into the band during the release of 2016’s “The Infinite Nothing”. “Perpetual Miscalculations” drew me in but the 2020 banger “Remember We Are Dust” turned me into an obsessive super fan. Their respective talents have grown over time and has shown on each release.
Comments vocalist Chaney Crabb on their latest output: An End To Everything’s title and lyrics are significant on a personal level and depict an era in my life that ended with the death of a close friend because of addiction. This person had thrived in life against many odds, but ultimately succumbed as a result of their own poor decisions. An End to Everything is about the nature of the darkness of life and the human experience.
The band always had awesome artwork and is always eye catching (pun intended). There was an eye on the last full length and it makes a return on the cover of “An End To Everything”. Entheos understands the important of visual art and it matches their music perfectly.
All five songs are unique and fantastic in their own way. The title track hits home with me, since it’s so personal to Chaney. I’m the kind of person that loves songs that are personal to the artist and I tend to like those songs even more. You can’t go wrong with their wide variety of influences. Entheos has a little bit of everything for everyone. They jammed a lot of fun into a 5 song effort. “An End To Everything” drops October 25th on Metal Blade Records.
