Geoff Barone is our February 2024 featured Artist Of The Month! Geoff is a local artist here in Buffalo with a plethora of styles underneath his musical belt. He’s done progressive releases, rock, metal, ambient, rock opera and even touched on experimental noise. Barone has even done concept albums and appeals to many different audiences. I discovered him when he emailed me sharing his music. It was around the later part of last decade a year or two into running this web site. Ever since then I’ve paid attention to his music and has surprised me every time.

The key part here is his diversity and willingness to try something different. Steven Wilson is exactly like that, mentally speaking. Barone’s releases boast a similar mindset and is a talented artist to boot. A lot of local artists you don’t even know of can be right in your back yard. Well, not literally but you get the point. Check out all of his albums ranging from his two part concept album “The Forfeit King”, to his metal release “Grim” and his latest effort his experimental noise album “Universal Gravity”. My personal favorite is “Darkest Of Summers” a depressing masterpiece!
