Mathcore/Prog Metal outfit Orchid is releasing their album “Miasma” tomorrow January 10th and it is quite the wild joyride through crackheadtown. Truthfully I really dig this band. They have the talent and energy of mathcore legends Dillinger Escape Plan, and the talent to pull off other jazzy and prog subgenres to make their sound even more inconsistent. To an artist like me, it’s very enjoyable for more unusual and odd bands because I WANT to hear something newer and fresher than more rehashed music if you get what I mean. With “Miasma”, the Indian 4 piece set out to blow minds and be themselves. They have fully done that, and then some.

For now, you can grab the album digitally or physically on band camp but North American buyers be stealthy the shipping is probably $10 or $12 (maybe more for all we know), being out of country. I love the band’s frantic and chaotic sound that they have blended well. They definitely will fly under the radar, but don’t let them sneak out and fly under yours as well. All 4 band members are proficient musicians and bring a lot to the table. They definitely have made a huge fan out of me.
