The chaotic, entertaining and fun sound of Sully has officially captivated me. They’re a disgusting new wild grindcore band out of Rochester. It’s a 60+ minute trip from Buffalo so I occasionally catch some ChaCha shows and checked out their live debut. I then caught them a few […]
New Standard Elite never disappoints. They always sign the hottest bands in the brutal death metal and slam world. Half the time, they sign bands with members as young as high schoolers or pre teens. See: Anatomize, Anal Stabwound and Virologist. They’ve signed some nasty brutal/tech like Theurgy, […]
Buffalo’s premiere death metal trio Lacerate put out their second EP “Anabolic” yesterday April 20th. The debut was a solid start, but man oh man this release. The boys went further into death metal territory, finally adding some blast beats and tremolo riffs. There’s even more nastier, filthier […]
New Jersey’s Chronepsis is releasing their debut album “Weight Of Eternity” on Friday April 4th. The melodic technical death metal quintet has their album streaming right here. I’m good friends with the band’s drummer Eric and he was giving me all sorts of pre production goodies along the […]
Celestial Scourge is back with their brutal death/tech style with their first album “Observers Of the Inevitable”. Their EP debuted in 2023 “Dimensions Unfurled”. What drew me into the band was they didn’t forget the death metal. Many bands in the technical death metal sub genres forget they’re […]
Newcomers Crown Of Karsus dropped their debut ep containing 6 blistering tracks over 25 minutes of run time. They have a groovy, slightly technical presence with some serious chops all around. The riffs are brutal, engaging, occasionally melodic and some solid solos that pop up. The vocals are […]
When I see deathcore I stereotypically ignore. I don’t enjoy vocal gymnastics and lack of riffs. But, this New England group brings the tech and….riffs? And melody? Crikey! “Culling From Gods” dropped last summer in July and I’ve been sleeping on this band for quite some time. The […]
We’re here to put our two cents on the recently reformed Spawn of Possession, with a different drummer. Retromorphosis is putting out their debut album “Psalmus Mortis” February 21st on Season Of Mist. That drummer is KC Howard (Odious Mortem, Ex Decrepit Birth). Joining him is Jonas Bryssling […]
Hello Metalheads! This is John back with another album review. This one is called The River Above by Druparia, it comes out on December 27th, 2024 and is self released! This debut it a melo-death metal work that flirts with thrash at times as well. This is another […]
